Thank you very much! </div><div> The best part of the Y? The sweet and friendly people who go there! The pool is pretty fun too... LOL.</div><div> Yes, I am still working at keeping on course with my diet and exercise. It feel pretty good to be a smaller size. This weekend I finally went shopping for some clothing. Boy was it amazing, shocking and fun to fit into a size 12!!!!! </div> <div>I had a hard time figuring out what it would be like to be lighter. It is ok to be lighter, I am getting used to it and plan to stay this way or even lighter.</div></div> Lighten Up in 2013http://www.blogger.com/profile/05819864593251680274noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7854047686612849810.post-24868296479045292162013-07-05T14:52:00.001-07:002013-07-05T14:52:03.436-07:00Pushing<div dir="ltr"><div>I am giving it a good hard try here. I have signed up for four classes! Cardio and Strength training, Swim w/ Fins, Adult Swim lesson and..... ZUMBA! I am just loving it! Everyone is so friendly too. And I saw Jean Toth - she is in my adult swimming lesson! </div> <div> I wasn't too sure what my swim lesson would be like. But, it was great! I made some progress in my swimming skill already. Happy Happy Happy!</div><div> I will go for my weigh in tomorrow (Saturday) I am pretty sure I will be down 10 from last month.</div> </div> Lighten Up in 2013http://www.blogger.com/profile/05819864593251680274noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7854047686612849810.post-43596784233696365712013-06-22T20:00:00.001-07:002013-06-22T20:00:59.919-07:00It is so hard to eat right when your not at home.<div dir="ltr"><div>I am not trying to make an excuse. I am just saying it is more difficult. I brought along a really nice big salad. 1% cottage cheese, seeds too. But when you get so hungry - and you are off of the home base - it is just really hard. No, I didn't eat any ice cream or cake. No, it was the extra thin and light tortilla chips and salsa that were just sooo good! I may have ate too many. I will know in the morning I get on the scale. There was ALOT of walking....? </div> <div>Please Lord, don't let me gain a pound.</div></div> Lighten Up in 2013http://www.blogger.com/profile/05819864593251680274noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7854047686612849810.post-82629193000355418672013-06-17T13:13:00.001-07:002013-06-17T13:13:08.222-07:00It is wild but true!<div dir="ltr"><div><span><font face="Arial">WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM!</font></span></div><div><span><font face="Arial">It is simple, rigorous, and effective.</font></span></div><div><span><font face="Arial">1) Fly from Cleveland to the West Coast and back again within 25 hours</font></span></div> <div><span><font face="Arial">2) Hike all over Hopkins Airport, O'Hare, and Seatac with about 15# pack on back.</font></span></div><div><span><font face="Arial">3) Hike all over above airports, in reverse order, this time with additional 20 pounds of puppy, and accoutrements </font></span></div> <div><span><font face="Arial">4) Try to sleep semi-reclining on airliner overnight</font></span></div><div><span><font face="Arial">5) Realize in wrong terminal at O'Hare, and dash like lunatic with above pack and puppy to make connecting flight two terminals over.</font></span></div> <div><span><font face="Arial">6) Arrive home, schlep from farthest point of airport (think in Medina County) to terminal. give up, take ding-truck.</font></span></div><div><span><font face="Arial">7) Chase around with 2 month old puppy at home</font></span></div> <div><span><font face="Arial">8) Collapse into bed</font></span></div><div><span><font face="Arial">9) Be awakened by puppy several times during night</font></span></div><div><span><font face="Arial">10) Arise next day, get upon scale.</font></span></div> <div><span><font face="Arial">11) Rejoice!! Ken is honest and to the point! Just exactly what you need at a time like this.</div> <div>I was getting so frustrated this week when I was eating less than 800 calories, exercising two times per day and not losing! </div><div>So, what did Ken say? </div><div>You are not exercising enough! Climb the hill faster, swim harder. He was right, I could have been working harder. So - I did. Guess what, I broke that plateau today! </div> </div> Lighten Up in 2013http://www.blogger.com/profile/05819864593251680274noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7854047686612849810.post-18410652554366274442013-06-09T10:47:00.001-07:002013-06-09T10:47:05.336-07:00My Hill<div>It is the hill near my home. It has become a workout tool. Before I eat breakfast - I walk up and down the hill at least three times. That will get your heart pumping.</div> <div> </div> <div>No, I don't really own the hill... but it is a great tool. To think it has been there all this time.</div> Lighten Up in 2013http://www.blogger.com/profile/05819864593251680274noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7854047686612849810.post-42523313609460497462013-06-01T14:01:00.001-07:002013-06-01T14:01:25.009-07:00From the mouths of babes<p dir="ltr">This week I was excited to spend some time riding a stationary bike side by side with one of my grandsons, Cody. It's always nice to have some company while you work out. Pretty soon Cody says,"I am sweating a little" - I think he was surprized. <br> Sometimes he would hold the handles where it will read your heart rate. We would compare how fast our heart rates were. We compared how far we were going. How many rpm's, calories burned and how much we were sweating. I told Cody that getting your heart rate up helps your body burn fat. <br> Every now and then Cody comes up with a priceless line. I think he was fascinated by his bodies production of "sweat". It was on his mind. Hey Cody, I have some sweat too. <br> That is when he said "Grama, sweat is fat crying". I said - well Cody that's absolutly right. Good one.</p> Lighten Up in 2013http://www.blogger.com/profile/05819864593251680274noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7854047686612849810.post-67492790599818622262013-05-24T20:23:00.001-07:002013-05-24T20:23:10.407-07:00keeping the fire burning<p dir="ltr">Just when I thought I had a good grip of this contest I noticed that it was two weeks hanging on the same four pound window. So, I expressed my four pound frustration with my trainer. Ken reminded me of some of the things he had told me to do. Some of the things I had forgot! Oops..... So - guess what. I did what he said for two days and lost two pounds!!!!!! <br> I need that guy. </p> Lighten Up in 2013http://www.blogger.com/profile/05819864593251680274noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7854047686612849810.post-56424553552106509632013-05-14T11:44:00.001-07:002013-05-14T11:44:02.915-07:00Almost back to where I left off<div dir="ltr"><div>There are so many strategies you can dream up in your mind to find a new level of inspiration.</div><div>About three years ago I was on a weight loss adventure. My peak happened at about 194 lbs. I am getting close to that again. Thanks GOD! It took me two years to get there in that earlier adventure. </div> <div>This time I am ariving in about three and a half months. That is what a contest can do for you!!! </div><div>Not to say that I have reached my goal! Oh no, OH no! I am now aiming for 173! </div><div>Thanks Lighten-up! I wouldn't be here with out you.</div> <div> </div><div>QH</div></div> Lighten Up in 2013http://www.blogger.com/profile/05819864593251680274noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7854047686612849810.post-85892260158684152472013-05-07T06:33:00.001-07:002013-05-07T06:33:30.789-07:00So much more fun to come!!<div dir="ltr"><div><br clear="all"><br> This contest is the "<span style="background:yellow"><span>beez</span></span> <span style="background:yellow"><span>kneezz</span></span>"! But with all the Lighten-up team there together it was even better. </div> <div> I had a reunion with an old friend. We were sharing recipe ideas and exciting events coming up in our lives.</div><div> Now that we are past the 5% mark we get the membership to the Y too!!! Maybe that is the whole idea when you are in a contest! It is terribly motivating. I have been exposed to so many of my most favorite foods latley. The Croation Lodge's strudel! I had it right under my nose! I could have had three pieces and took some home!!!! Did not do it! not one piese and not one taste! Tonight - ice cream cake!!! Not one bite! I didn't have any carbs either. His name is Ken. </div><div>Last Friday was the first workout with Ken. What a great workout it was. At Fitness 19 in Wickliffe, Ken watched every move I made. When my shoulders went up after the fith rep he noticed it and told me. He says: "put your head back, shoulders down, chest up and out and squeeze your shoulder blades together". I didn't know I was doing so many things the wrong way! </div> <div>My trainer Ken will also be coaching my nutrition. I am on track for my goal. Though this last week I was getting a little concerned. </div></div> Lighten Up in 2013http://www.blogger.com/profile/05819864593251680274noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7854047686612849810.post-62054960898669875372013-03-06T13:05:00.001-08:002013-03-06T13:05:29.120-08:00Excersize!<div dir="ltr"><div>I could hardly believe it! I am not sure what to believe. </div><div> </div><div>Probably one of the most comforting meals of the week happens on Tuesday night when we go to Cabanas' and have a meal from their Lean menu.
